I'm pretty sure it has ruined 2 of the lanes which both go to the ram slots. Whether it's deep enough to completely disable them will be found out when I boot it. Damage may be caused if you turned the pc on with the damaged motherboard in it and the scratches caused a short which could fry multiple components, not just the cpu. It looks like he only scratched the thin epoxy layer - the board looks like it's fine and I don't think he severed any tracings. Like I said it doesn't look like he severed anythign and it should be fine.
