The aim was to develop a heat shield and the structural member as a single structure while maintaining the necessary recession resistance. Test samples were exposed to thermal cycles and ultraviolet (UV) radiation environment. WebPolyetheretherketone (PEEK) was widely used in the fabrication of bone substitutes for its excellent chemical resistance, thermal stability and mechanical properties that were similar to those of natural bone tissue. However, the biological inertness restricted the osseointegration with surrounding bone tissue.
